As summer is setting in here in Norway — our garden is becoming filled with colors and flowers. I just grabbed the DSLR camera and macro lens one afternoon and took some photos.
When we bought our house last year; it had lots of coax and telephone outlets, with conduit in the wall connecting them. I have no use for these outlets, but the wall boxes and conduits can be repurposed for Ethernet cables 🙂
I’m not a big fan of embedding YouTube videos, it adds a lot of weight to the page and I have limited control over it. It pulls in all kinds of styles, scripts and fonts from multiple domains. YouTube has a nocookie embed option, which is suppose to be privacy-friendly, but who knows.
So if not YouTube — what then? Vimeo is one option, it costs a few coffees per month. But it has some of the same problems as YouTube, as it also uses an iframe.
So I tried some other solutions.
A few days ago; sitting outside — drinking coffee and minding my own business, I received an email from my UPS:
Utility power not available.
My homelab had lost both power sources 😮 This whole area had a power outage — a good opportunity to do a UPS and power down test 😛
I moved my main hypervisor, Alpha, into a new server case; a compact Inter-Tech with 8 hot-swappable bays in the front.
I also moved the four SSDs over from the failed ZFS SSD pool project, and this time it worked! 😃
